Unidentified in a bowtie

rppc-cyko-sitting-bowtie

You’ve probably noticed I have not been posting as often lately. I assure you I am still as impassioned as I was when I first started this blog, but unfortunately life got in the way of my collecting. Without going into details it’s been a trying time, and I’m only now starting to see the end of the tunnel.

But fear not, this is only a temporary phase.

So, this is one of the RPPCs I got recently. Sometimes I think I have not much to say about some pictures I own, I just enjoy them for what they are.

RPPC: CYKO 1904-1920s.

This Hatted Gent

cabinet-hatted-man-flap

A sepia tone hatted gent of the Gilded Age, on a cabinet photo with a flap. He has a tie pin and pins on the lapels, with a large brim hat he decided to pose with. This is a small portrait, about 2″ x 3″.

There is no photographer info or name, but by the tight coat and short lapels this looks like it was taken in the 1900s at most.

An Intense Stare

RPPC. Private Collection.

RPPC. Private Collection.

This Edwardian gent looks focused yet relaxed at the same time, He has this “stare into your soul” expression.

Note the heels on those boots.

RPPC: AZO 1904-1918

A gorgeous portrait

Cabinet card. 1890s. Private Collection.

Cabinet card. 1890s. Private Collection.

I love everything about this cabinet card; the pose, the handsome subject in his flawless attire, and the set-up with the vase and curtain taking half the space in the background. This young gentleman doesn’t look a day over twenty- if he even was- but he was married already. His swept hairstyle adds to the youthfulness.

Photographer: Atelier Muller. Barenstein Weipert. Germany.

Confidently Yours

cdv-hatted-teen

Circa 1870-80. CDV. Private Collection.

This unidentified young man posing in front of a plain backdrop comes off as comfortable in his skin. And the tilted hat adds flair to the otherwise nice but generic suit.

Alas the back is plain with no photographer info. I hope the kid did well for himself, he sure looks like he had the self assurance.
