Coming of Age

CDV. Private Collection.

CDV. Private Collection.

A CDV that looks like a mini cabinet card with the embossing on the front. This one is of an about 12 year old boy who graduated from knickerbockers to a grown up suit a bit too large for him (smart parents).

But the kid made sure he looked the part with a cigar, holding it like all the adults did on pictures.

They started young…

Yet another Mr Handsome

RPPC.

RPPC portrait circa 1910.

Another portrait. I would have gotten the original but it’s too stained…a shame! A bit of Photoshop magic brought this chap back to life though. He’s got intense eyes.

‘Slinky’ the WWII era U.S. Army fighter pilot.

Candid. Private Collection

4″x6″ signed snapshot of WWII U.S. army fighter pilot nicknamed ´Slinky’. Private Collection

Brave ‘Slinky’ is in harness and light gear, looking up above where his mind is at. Did he earn his nickname by doing some graceful maneuvers in the sky?

Happy Memorial Day, and let’s remember him and the many others who put their lives on the line to protect this country.

The WWI era British sailor and his stylish brother

The sailor’s hat reads H.M.S ROCKET. His standing brother is beautifully dressed in an outdoorsy suit with corduroy riding trousers. Love the patterned waistcoat with the striped tie…He had style.

RPPC: F.J. Seaman, Hall. York & Blackpool.

Memorial Weekend – Four sailors and a bandaid

Snapshot.

1940s-1950s Snapshot.

A cute snapshot for the day.
