Hair pomade barely manages to tame this young man’s blonde curls. He looks like he’s wearing a broad lapels long frock coat. What a cutie with his slightly tinted cheeks too.

The patent for the tintype is embossed on the top left of the front matte along the edge: Potters Patent Make March 7, 1865.
