Circa 1890. J.H.Kent CDV. Private Collection.
Another wonderful J.H. Kent photograph added to the fold. This time a CDV of a toddler boy placed behind a sofa with his hands over the back. I love how plain everything is so the focus is exclusively on the sitter, and I love that one of the buttons of the jacket is undone. No matter how still the pose seems, this is still an active little kid!

I could never work out why the barker had to cut out that piece of hair below the parting on the right side, I used to hate it lol

Ha ha ha! No clue. Maybe because then the kid wouldn’t have his hair in the eyes when it grew? A cheap way of going to the barber less often?

He looks so angelic, there was an old song called “My Brother” by Terry Scott and there was a line that he was good when he was asleep but you didn’t know what he was dreaming lol

I can’t play the video from the app, but I’ll try later. Kids always look angelic on pictures…very deceiving! Lol

Nevermind, then they would do it to the other side too. Just the style I suppose!
