c. 1930-40 photo portrait. 3.25″ x 4″. Private Collection.
Someone wrote “Guess who?” on the back.
“Is this..? Oh my God, it is!” I imagine the recipient said when they first gazed at the portrait, and then a small smile formed in response to the genuine one on display.
This young man posed in his zipped up leather aviator jacket with a plaid scarf around the neck and dotted tie. His smile is endearing, with the hand tinted cheeks. Some say he bears a striking resemblance to Matt Damon. I can see it, do you?

I was totally thinking “Matt Damon” before you said it. You should try and show him this….How do you show a star anything?

Not sure! Probably on Twitter. The nose and ears are different but the rest is spot on!

He does look like Matt Damon. He also looks familiar. This is a photobooth photo, so I may have seen it online, if that is where you got it, but think I may have another Matt Damon lookalike in my collection. He is a time travelling celebrity. Another blogger has many, many TTCs in her collection.

I got it from a seller who sold it to me on Facebook, so you may have seen this one before. I was 80% sure it’s a photobooth but the size confused me. I suppose they made larger ones too.

Yes, some had larger format photos but the booths were most often in shops that offered enlargement services in the early days, rather than stand alone ones in malls and at train stations etc. it could be an enlargement.

Could be, it’s a good quality one if it is!
