Lovely pictures, I prefer the second, less formal picture than the more ridged first one. The bouquet is amazing.

The second seems more intimate, the way they’re facing each other. The first is more formal, I think.

He’s probably resting his hand just on her waist, all that future promise and most likely he had to join up in a few years. I can’t help thinking when I read the cards from this period just how many were lucky enough to reach old age.

*sigh* yes, hard times. But if you were wealthy you could buy yourself out of the draft, I think. But then the diseases too. Poor folks dealt with death more often than we do.
