Kough & Leeper cabinet card portrait. Private Collection.
This very handsome gentleman from the 1880s is very smartly dressed. The striped tie is rather nice too.
No need to edit the contrast or erase scratches on this one. Like the timeless elegance of the sitter, this picture stood the test of time. The scalloped edges are golden too, truly a beautiful card which was kept in an album.

Photographer: Kough & Leeper. Fayette St. Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

An endearing expression. Cabinet photo circa 1900. Private Collection.
This young man’s expression is so cute, cute, cute. And his bowtie is crooked. He wants to smile, yet he looks like he’s checking out something or is interested in the process.
This picture portrait came out wonderfully, didn’t it?
No name or photographer logo.

Circa 1915 RPPC. Private Collection.
Doesn’t he look just perfectly proper? Mr. All-American, kind of like your clean-cut 50s stereotype, except this is the 10s. Nice eyes too -must be said.
The upper sleeves of his coat look a bit worn. Not sure if that’s the picture or not. The sleeves are creased as well as the pants.

1890s-1900s Cabinet card. Private Collection.
The photographer set the camera at a low angle which is highly unusual, but it paid off and the portrait is gorgeous. This gentleman has very beautiful eyes drawing the viewer in. Loving the fat bowtie too.
Alas, no name or photographer logo…This one came from a dealer based in East Sussex, England. This fine sitter was most certainly British.

Plain dark green card with gold bevelled edges and plain back.

1890s cabinet card of priest. Private Collection.
A nice portrait of a priest from Manchester, New Hampshire. I’m tempted to say more but I’ll refrain. >:-)
The front is blank but the back is light pink with the busy but pretty photographer logo of the 1890s.

Photographer: S. Piper. 864 Elm St. Manchester. New Hampshire.
