I imagine these lovebirds were on vacation by the seaside on a summer day, and took a souvenir picture of them together at the local photographer.
I love the cut-out porch of what looks like a beach house backdrop, and the sea horizon painted on with the reeds peeking into the picture to the left. Her white dress is fantastic with the small lady straw boater, and he’s your typical dashing gent with his bowler on the knee. Her body language here is very telling with her hand on his shoulder. Love is in the air!

I like his “semi” formal pose with the way he is sitting and her “informal” pose, it is a lovely picture and one can imagine it framed on their mantelpiece
