The Peach Embrace

These sepia (but I’ll say peach) tinted real photo postcards are gorgeous, the color is soothing to the eye. The first of two smoking lovers breathes the 20s -pun. I look at it and hear Scott Joplin’s “Easy Winners”.

The second features the same man and the same woman but without her brunette wig (or she put on a blonde one, whichever). She’s wearing a different dress too, but the ring on her left hand is the same. The male model is wearing a different suit too.

The hatted dandy by a vine covered fence

This RPPC isn’t matte but is on glossy paper. I didn’t know glossy paper existed this early on. This handsome dandy is posing with his arms behind the back, somewhere between a smile and a frown. The vine behind him look like they’re in need of water.

Hot kissing the blonde

A sizzling hot couple of French postcards showing a brunette man with the slicked back hair kissing on the chest of a gorgeous curly haired blonde girl. On the second one, we see that he’s wearing a military uniform.

What’s interesting is both postcards used the same photo session, yet they are not of the same company. I would very much like to discover who the talented photographer was.

I want to say this could be the same man as on the blue kiss postcard, not sure about the woman.

James Everett “Jimmie” Caldwell’s Jazz Jesters

A gorgeous vintage 7″ by 10″ photograph of the Jazz Jesters, a Northern University jazz band founded by Jimmie Caldwell and based in the Chicago of the early 20s. I can’t help but imagine the wild soirees these five slick musicians played for, and how much illegal alcohol they saw flowing.

This photograph is attached to a grey album backing with a note stating the organist (Jimmie Caldwell) played at a venue (I can’t decypher) in Omaha.

A couple and that banana

Suggestive much? The photographer knew you all have dirty minds!

This is in fact a 1980 repro of the 1920s card. I softened it up a bit, I can’t stand the dotted matrix of reprints. Now I want to find the original.
