A gentleman by the name of E.A. Ford from Iowa Falls in an artistic portrait of himself. The photographer sent him the picture, calling it a ‘dandy time at home’.
The photographer signed his note R.D. Case. This real photo postcard was posted December 5, 1913.

This photo was taken in Cincinnati, Ohio around 1915-1925. The couple is nicely dressed, and the man is displaying a couple of pens in his breast pocket -ie- he was educated and wished to show it. He also has a nice cap on his knee -wish he’d put it on!
His wife is dressed in a white lace dress, resting her hand on his shoulder. A beautiful, airy photograph.
Pictures of African Americans of the days are rare, and even rarer are couples -from what I’ve seen (or rather NOT seen). I was happy to find this one at a reasonable price. This couple may have been of mixed origins too.

She’s holding a rose and he’s posing in evening wear. I love the softness of these tinted cards, they carry a sense of nostalgic romanticism that is not seen today. Dainty and sweet. And I love her watch.

A very crisp and clean RPPC of two smartly dressed kid brothers holding hats with the black visor. Apparently these were only popular with German boys and men at the time. The backdrop with the corinthian column gives this picture a luxurious, wealthy feel, and these two are posing like their adult counterparts.
I’m guessing this was taken around 1900-1905. They’re IDed on the back with the city of Berlin as their hometown. If anyone can make out the last name, here’s the back note:

This one must have hurt! But instead of taking away, a scar sometimes adds to the charm. Mr. Kingston has this twinkle in his eyes, and the looks of a crooner. Sing a song and watch them swoon!
