Kurt and Herbert of Berlin

A very crisp and clean RPPC of two smartly dressed kid brothers holding hats with the black visor.  Apparently these were only popular with German boys and men at the time. The backdrop with the corinthian column gives this picture a luxurious, wealthy feel, and these two are posing like their adult counterparts.

I’m guessing this was taken around 1900-1905. They’re IDed on the back with the city of Berlin as their hometown. If anyone can make out the last name, here’s the back note:

A boy’s exciting day at the photographer’s studio

First, look at this little cutie of a sister! Isn’t she just adorable smiling in her white dress and oversized bow in her hair? She’s standing on a chair to be at her older brother’s height, and he seems so thrilled to have his picture taken.

Riding his horse on a winter day

The original is faded by time and has stains all over. I did see potential in it and I’m happy with the way this turned out. I must add I changed the height of his bowler and tweaked the shoulders of his coat.

In a bowler and warm overcoat, this gentleman is riding his mare in the winterish countryside. He’s all smile too, proudly posing with the animal. This picture was taken in the mid 1910s.

President Theodore Roosevelt and his sons

The 26th President posing with his four sons.

Clockwise: Kermit (b.1889), Theodore Jr (b.1887), Quentin (b.1897) and Archibald (b.1894). They had a half-sister, Alice, born in 1884 of Theodore’s first marriage.
