Late 1860’s CDV. Private Collection.
A CDV in exceptionally clean condition. It looks as good as new. The young gentleman has the typical stately pose of the era with his arm lightly rested over the column’s foot. He is wearing high shine square toe shoes and a three button baggy overcoat over a large bowtie in fashion at the time. By looking at his hairstyle, the CDV design and the lack of tax stamp this picture was most likely taken between 1866-1870. This sitter is (omg) giving us a hint of a smile. Detail after the cut.

Circa 1880-1900. Private Collection.
A wonderfully detailed CDV of a gentleman posing in a yard in front of a window. A gypsy table is by his side with a flower vase and a few books and notebooks on top. Let’s not forget the white lace curtains behind him, and the crocheted doily table topper! The composition was well thought out and comes out nice.
And this man has a very classically intellectual pose, his hand resting on the temple. I wonder what he was…a writer, a professor?
Detail after the cut.

Circa 1910s-1920s. Private collection
Vignette RPPC of a young man from Petoskey Michigan. He’s wearing a tilted Gatsby cap highly popular in the twenties he lightly placed over his well combed hair. He’s also wearing a raised round stud on his tie. Once again, no name. What a shame. With that cute smile he must have been popular with the ladies!
The whole RPPC after the cut.
