A postcard published by Douno ‘Edition Photochrom’. To me the color makes it look like they were kissing on a warm and sunny early evening, right before dusk. A beautiful postcard added to the other tinted ones of the same genre I fell in love with.

This man’s got a dangerous look on the postcard above. Must be that creepy little thing on that chair whispering things into his head! :) I didn’t even notice it until I scanned the pictures. Yikes!
If I saw just one of the postcards instead of all four, I’d think an artist painted the backdrop. Instead, this photoshoot looks like it happened by a real seaside under the moonlight. You can see the moon going up the sky, the changing clouds and a few sailboats passing by. The lighting was expertly done, because this really does look like an indoor studio setting…or was it a photographic trick with a film playing behind them, the couple placed behind the projected screen?

Quick, somebody give this sad Victorian gent a hug! Doesn’t he look like he needed one? Maybe he missed his love. What a romantic with his bouquet in hand! He had very pretty eyes too…and the bowler fits him just right.
This is a very beautiful tintype too, the darks are satin and the lighter areas matte. The scan is not doing it justice.

These sepia (but I’ll say peach) tinted real photo postcards are gorgeous, the color is soothing to the eye. The first of two smoking lovers breathes the 20s -pun. I look at it and hear Scott Joplin’s “Easy Winners”.
The second features the same man and the same woman but without her brunette wig (or she put on a blonde one, whichever). She’s wearing a different dress too, but the ring on her left hand is the same. The male model is wearing a different suit too.

These romantic four got their picture taken on rocks in the outdoors. There’s such a positive, happy vibe to them. Though they are in nature it looks like they may have been at a city park, or at least near civilisation. They’re dressed city-like with bowties for the gents and white dresses for the ladies. My guess is they attended a happy semi-formal occasion and a photographer was hired to take pictures of the attendees.
I like seeing pictures of gents with their hat tilted far back. The one with the bowler looks like he’s cracking up about something. I love it when everyone smiles on tintypes. The ladies are gorgeous too. The guys are probably feeling lucky!
