Well, what can I state about this one other than the obvious reason why I added him to my collection? I put HOT GUY in the tag and title to attract a larger audience. Conniving! I do have something of importance to say, and it doesn’t have anything to do with this CDV, or maybe it does because there is no name on this card and it inspired me to share some thoughts I think are worth sharing.

I could find much information about Frank Newell Libby, thanks to his name and birthdate affixed to the back of this 1/6th plate tintype.

What a car! A classic Chevrolet Coupe, still the embodiment of the American dream car. I’m going a bit off topic since, obviously, here the star of the show is THE CAR. But what is a man without his toys? He’s leaning into it with pride. Some things will never change. :)

An original print from 1928 I added to my collection. I love the pose and the sepia tone. Don Terry (his entertainment industry name) was an actor of the 30s and 40s. This photo is from the first film that discovered him “Me, Gangster”.
